Reasons for drawing

A child’s first attempts at language are a series of sounds, babbling and cries which are unrecognizable as words. His experiments gradually with stimulation lead to speech.Creative activities are also initially exploratory. If a young child is given a crayon or a pencil his first reaction will be to investigate it by handling, tasting and biting.Gradually he will make marks on the paper.

As he gains more experience and is given the opportunity hes movements become more controlled.

It is very important

that adults do not interfere in this natural development by trying to make the child produce recognizable drawings before he is able.Give them help by providing the necessary materials, give encouragement, take an interest in his results and talk about how he can develop his drawings.
